These valves allow positive shut-off in one direction and flow in the other direction in the event of a pressure difference in the refrigerant circuit and thus protect the refrigeration system against excessive pressures during service. No parallel-connected non-return valve with associated piping needs to be installed as the non-return valve is already integrated in the ball valve, which reduces material costs.
