OK Autrod 5356 is the most used alloy type for welding aluminium alloys. OK Autrod 5356 is a magnesium alloyed aluminium wire for MIG welding of Al-Mg-alloys containing up to 5% Mg, but is also used for its relatively high strength. Al- alloys of type 5XXX, that are welded with OK Autrod 5356 and creates a weld of more than 3% Mg, can be prone to cracks caused by stress corrosion at working temperatures exceeding 65°C. The alloy cannot be heat treated. Current type: DC(+).
