The Elma BM 257 is a new mini-multimeter that offers two exciting new functions. Auto Check is an intelligent function which automatically detects and selects AC or DC voltage, as well as throughput test/resistance. Low Z is voltage measurement with low impedance, i.e. the measuring point is loaded to ensure that it is actual voltage that’s being measured. The instrument has built-in non-contact detection of electrical fields that can be used, e.g., to detect electromagnetic fields from computer screens, or as a non-contact polar scope. The Elma BM 257 measures TRMS current, voltage, resistance, frequency, capacitance, continuity, and temperature. The Elma BM 257 has an illuminated display with analog bar graph for easy, quick reading. The instrument is equipped with automatic/manual area selection, relative measurement, Peak hold, min/max, data hold, and intelligent auto-shutoff. With PC communication and the (optional) Windows software, online data logging can be done. The instrument is very safe and robust, and tolerates misuse thanks to highly effective fuses. Meets IEC 61010-1 Cat. III 600V. The Elma BM 257 is supplied complete with rubber protective cover, test cables, temperature sensor (wire) -50 till +250°C), batteries, and user manual.
