With new functions like "Auto Check" and "Low Z", as well as IEC 61010-1 approval to Cat. IV 1000V the Elma BM 829 is hard to beat. Auto Check is an intelligent function which automatically detects and selects AC or DC voltage, as well as throughput test/resistance. All you have to do is turn on the instrument and measure.

Low Z is voltage measurement with low impedance, i.e. the measuring points are loaded to ensure that it is actual voltage that’s being measured. The Elma BM 829 is equipped with a large, illuminated double display and a quick analog bar graph. The instrument measures TRMS AC+DC voltage, current, frequency, resistance, capacitance, diodes, throughput and temperature. The Elma BM 829 has a number of extra functions, including 1ms crest/peak hold, max/min, relative measurement, data hold, auto shut-off, automatic/manual area selection, and a RS232-port for PC communication. The instrument has built-in non-contact detection of electrical fields that can be used, e.g., to detect electromagnetic fields from computer screens, or as a non-contact polar scope. With PC communication and the Windows software (sold separately), it is possible to do online data logging, where measured data can be shown as: Digital display, analog display, curve/graph, and table.

With the instrument connected to a PC, data can be stored in intervals from 1 second to 1 hour. The Elma BM 829 is UL listed and meets IEC 61010-1 Cat. IV 1000V. The instrument is equipped with highly effective fuses with control function, and is supplied complete with user manual, temperature probe, battery, test cables, and robust rubber protective cover.
